American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Tax Credit Exchange Program

The Tax Credit Exchange Program (TCEP) provided the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) with the ability to exchange returned or unused federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) with the U.S. Treasury for a grant at a fixed price. All unused or returned credit allocations from 2007 and 2008 were eligible to be exchanged, as was part of CHFA’s 2009 credit allocation.  CHFA has provided initial authorization assistance of TCEP funds to several developments across the state.
