American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Tax Credit Assistance Program

The Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP) provided direct funding to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) through the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  CHFA received an allocation of $26.2 million from HUD for investment in projects awarded Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) in federal fiscal years 2007, 2008, or 2009.  CHFA was required to distribute these funds competitively and to give priority to projects that are expected to be completed by February 2012. In 2009, CHFA provided authorization for allocation of the TCAP funds to several developments throughout Connecticut.

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Tax Credit Assistance Program webpage can be found here.
